February 2020 Half Term ideas with children (or for big kids at heart!) around Peterborough

February 1, 2020

I'm starting to rack my brains and the internet for ideas to occupy my children this February half term and I thought i would share with you some of the local things to do in around Peterborough that I have discovered!

Let's admit it, a week without ideas and staying at home quickly turns into chaos and removes all sanity so check out these ideas and let me know which you might plan on doing!

Sacrewell Farm

Sacrewell farm is a charming little farm park which always seems to have activities on and has lots to so there. In bad weather it also has a fantastic indoor soft play.

Pirate week is on from the 15th-23rd Feb and dress up is encouraged so that your little swashbucklers can play on a pirate ship, find clues and maybe the treasure me hearties!

Tickets for the pirate week can be purchased here.

Star party tickets are also available for the 29th February and is run by the Peterborough Astrological society who will be bringing along telescopes and giving talks on how to recognise stars and constellations.

Tickets for the star party can be purchased here.

Ferry Meadows

We love a trip to Ferry Meadows and in Winter it feels great to blow away the cobwebs and escape the cabin fever here. It's so vast with lots of play areas for varying ages and the scenery is beautiful in every season.

This half term they are hosting a holiday trail on the 15th February at 10am.

Details and how to book here.

The amazing bubble man

Well I'd never heard of this chap before but he sounds so much fun for little ones! (ok, ok I'll admit it he sounds fun for us grown ups too!!).

I'm curious as to how big they could be...and who doesn't love bubbles?! Its supposedly a show full of awe and laughter so take those kiddos along to get their mouths agape and their bottoms rooted to one spot for a bit.

His show is coming to Spalding at the South Holland Centre and tickets can be booked here.

Snowdrop walks

Enjoy the beautiful carpet of snowdrops at Anglesey Abbey.

Snowdrop walks daily from 20th-23rd Feb 9.30-4.30 More information here.

Thomas the tank engine at Nene Valley

Thomas, the family favourite is out and about at Nene Valley on the 15th. 16th, 22nd and 23rd of Feb for all those train loving little ones!

Buy tickets here.

The Peterborough Kids's Fest

There is a brand new indoor children's festival coming to the East of England show ground.

Once inside there are 35 free activities to enjoy and are catered towards ages 1-14.

8th-9th Feb

Buy tickets here.

Space Cadets

Go along to Queensgate on the 22nd Feb and your little ones can dress up as astronauts and see the solar system with a virtual reality mask!

Taking place 11-4 outside Superdry. More information here.

If I've missed out something really exciting going on then please shout and I'll be adding to this if I see anything else worthy of adding so do check back later!

I hope you have a great and partially sane half term with your little ones!
