Nobody can say that Peterborough in Cambridgeshire lacks a grand and beautiful wedding venue. The arrival of Holmewood Hall in the area is a welcome addition to the choice of luxury wedding venues and is fabulously close for couples who don't want to travel too far from the city and enjoy the quiet and rambling english countryside of the little picturesque village of Holme.

I had the pleasure of photographing my first wedding there last weekend and I absolutely loved it! So I wanted to share some thoughts, and photos of course(!!), with you all.

After visiting lots of wedding venues over the years I've come to the conclusion that a venue can be as beautiful and perfect as you like...but ultimately the staff put the frosting on it to make a great venue, a spectacular venue. From the moment yo...

Check your little one actually likes cake, it might sound really daft but this one is crucial! If they are not a fan then consider swapping for something else which is their current favourite and discuss with your photographer what might work best.

Plan a simple outfit, taking into consideration you don't want to be washing buttercream from something elaborate and it will need to be comfy as the likelihood is your little one is quite mobile by now! Lots of faffing round with dungarees that are slightly too big or a pair of shorts that fall down can lose time and cause missing the cutest expressions so ensure it fits well.

Check your photographer supplies towels and if your session includes a bubble bath check that the bubbles they use are sensitive. I chose to use Sanex Zero or Child's farm...

When that new little addition arrives the whole family have cause for celebration, the family dynamic changes and all you're in need of an updated family photo.

That's why it's so lovely to include yourselves, yep even if it feels like the last thing you want to do after birth and your other beautiful children. There are so many memories to be treasured here. And that's what really genuine family photography is all about. I wish to give you memories of cuddles, tender looks, and of course some giggles too.

Contact me to chat about your perfect newborn session soon. The perfect time to book is just after your 20 week scan to ensure I have a space. I offer sessions when your baby is brand new in the hospital or at home (Fresh 48) and newborn sessions at home or in the hospital.

Let me know how...

Two beautiful love-birds, one stunning location. Can I photograph weddings like this every day please?

Lianne and Lennox only approached me for their party back in the UK in Cambridgeshire and I ended up flying out to their wedding ceremony in Sorrento at The Cloisters and what an honour that was.

The reception was held at the Mar Hotel Alimuri and the beach allowed us to take some pretty epic sunset couple photos. A day full of sunshine, smiles, good food, beautiful people, kind souls and lots of love. Thank you for choosing me to photograph such a special day.

Lianne and Lennox's review;

"Roxy was absolutely amazing from start to finish! She was the photographer for our wedding in Sorrento. She met us the day before the wedding to help us feel at ease and on the day was more like a friend,...

It's always an honour to photograph you and your families, but sessions like this are extra special. I photographed the lovely Elisabeth as a baby and now I enjoyed the privilege of photographing her again, looking in wonder at Mummy's bump, the last moments as a family of three, and the most precious of all cuddling her new baby brother.

Don't worry about bringing your toddler to the session as I have toys on hand, bubbles and an approach which is never stuffy or too prescriptive. I want your little one to have fun at the session, to relax, and to show their true character. That's best achieved by me encouraging you to interact as a family, to give them tickles, get genuine giggles and therefore the most beautiful smiles. No cheese here...unless you want to capture their 'ch...

It's a month today since I got home feeling the most festive and warm tingly vibes from the most laughter filled and joyous wedding of Mr and Mrs Ruggins. Prior to their wedding day I had been struggling to find my Christmas cheer, tied up in the stress of being a Mum, running a business and the festivities had just escaped me. I couldn't have possibly left this wedding without feeling warm and christmassy! A beautiful collaboration of Christmas hymns, snowfetti, christmas trees, ski themed reception, sequins, and mistletoe meant that Christmas started on the 23.12.17.

If not for all of the beautiful finishing touches that Micki had arranged (completely DIY with the help of her Mum I might add!), you couldn't have helped but feel joyous as the day was filled with laughter, smiles and pure...

When my dear friend Louise, from Tranquility Breastfeeding, indicated she would love to capture her pregnancy I was delighted. It's a lovely way to celebrate and cherish the result of a very long wait for them all. I simply can't wait to meet her next little bundle who is due any time now and booked in for some Fresh 48 photographs with Captured by Roxy when he or she arrives!

Over 10 years ago now I started as a trainee midwife and was astounded at how truly goddess like and awe inspiring a pregnant woman can be. It still amazes me now and I will always be fascinated and passionate about maternity. What an honour to be able to document a pregnancy and maternity journey for you all.

Louise's home is absolutely ideal for a home photoshoot, large sash windows letting in beautiful l...

The first weeks at home with your new baby are a whirlwind. So many raw emotions, time is an illusion and yet those sleepless nights are so very long.

As a photographer I love to capture real and honest moments, and what better place to capture your newborn than in your own home on your very own sofa...(plus or minus your first 'baby' who happens to be Oscar the spaniel!) On a stormy and blowy day in Lincolnshire I headed out to photograph this beautiful new family of 3 ('cough' sorry Oscar...4).

Meet Oliver, the boy who slept like a dream for his session, gave us windy smiles and has the most amazing dark hair.

If you are pregnant get in touch to book your newborn session now as I only take on a very limited number a month in order to give each one my special care and attention. If you...

You are immersed in a surreal bubble when you have just had a baby. Time is precious, sleep is lacking and what better luxury than for someone to take photographs of these fleeting moments in your own home. No travel, no packing up the changing bag for the first time and navigating the car seat. Just being you, having cuddles, still having time to squeeze in a nap that day or negotiate a visit from the lists of family and friends you have waiting! What I would have given for someone to visit me at home and have photographs that were emotionally raw and honest.

A home lifestyle newborn session is one of the options I love to offer. Visiting Aspen was so delightful. Those full soft cheeks and squishy cuddles were more than worth a drive across the Lincolnshire roads and even after a tongue ti...
